ABOUT US

Established in 2015 as Rothesay Estate in Avoca, Victoria, our first vineyard site, at the foothills of the Pyrenees Ranges realised a long-held dream to make great Australian wine. Our Avoca vineyard produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

In 2017, surrounded by ex-red wine barrels and sipping on Starward Distilleries Nova Whisky, as well as strong interest in chemistry, and a fascination with distilling, Morris Lane Distillery was born. Our focus was making easy drinking Australian whiskies, with a focus on 100% Australian grown grains.

In 2020, recognising the importance of a cellar door in an easy to access location, The Urban Cellar was born. "The Cellar" was designed to be a venue to showcase our range of products and an additional space to increase production. The opening of The Urban Cellar coincided with our range of gin and liqueurs.

In 2023, we decided to merge Rothesay Estate and Morris Lane Distillery and Ironstone Farm was born. The name is derived from our Inglewood/Bendigo farm that is, unsurprisingly littered with Ironstone.

Our brand continues to grow and thrive. In 2025 we launched our wildly successful range of premium bottled cocktails, we launched our first rum and spiced rum, our whisky range goes from strength to strength, and as always we continue to innovate and add products that make sense to us.
